Dr. Jill checks in with an important message about after-hours phone calls.
In an effort to be mindful of the health and wellness of our doctors, Healthy Kids Pediatrics has partnered with an after-hours triage service called Night Nurse to receive all urgent phone calls that come in after 8:00 pm. Night Nurse is staffed by pediatric trained nurses who follow the Barton Schmidt guidelines which are the standard of care for triaging pediatric medical concerns.
The HKP doctor on call will be available until 8:00 pm for urgent calls by choosing option #6 and leaving a message that will be returned by the HKP doctor. After 8:00 pm, when choosing option #6 for an urgent call, a live operator will take your information and a nurse will call you back to address your concerns. *PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR RINGER ON so you hear the call back.
Documentation of all after-hours calls with Night Nurse will be uploaded immediately after the call to a portal to which HKP has full-time access. Each morning these call reports will be reviewed by the HKP team and follow up appointments will be scheduled if necessary.
